“Beshoot” the plural of “Bisht”, are the traditional attire of men in Oman and the Gulf Region. Similar to the abaya donned by women, the bisht is also black and is draped on the shoulders. Arsenal Soccer School Oman’s first 10 Week Programme kicked off on 19th September 2010. A cross section of students from different schools in Muscat enthusiastically participated in it. Junior Chefs is a popular leisure programme at Gulf Chef School that aims to enhance life skills of children in a fun environment. The 6 – 7 week programme runs every Thursday in the kitchens of Gulf Chef School between 9:00am and 12:00pm in two batches of 8-12 years and 13-19 years.
During the programme your “Chefs” will prepare and cook food from specially designed recipes that include homemade ginger bread, chewy banana cookies, lemon drizzle cake, Chelsea buns, fish cakes, cottage pie and a whole lot more.

In April 2004 the Oman National Association for Cancer Awareness was officially registered. This is the first patient advocacy group in Oman. Its main objectives are: To Create public awareness for all types of cancer- To work hand in hand with the health care providers in the field of cancer management as a patient support group- Working with decision makers to highlight the patient’s perspective of cancer, its scourge and needed management- To support continuous medical education and assist in research especially in the field of raising the much-needed funds- To raise funds to support the association programs- To work closely with other patient advocacy groups locally, regionally, and internationally- To work closely with the government agencies.

Muscat Daily was launched in October 2009. Regular readers of English papers in the country will easily note that Muscat Daily sets the trend as far as news coverage and design goes.
We have the largest distribution network on ground in Oman and more readers than any other English language daily newspaper in the country. MUSCAT – The city will play host to a first-of-its-kind ‘Mommy and Me’ exhibition on February 27 and 28 at the Al Noor Hall, specifically focusing on infant and childcare.
“The impetus to develop this unique concept is the steady growth of child bearing women and the increasing demand for child-related products and services in the sultanate,” explained the organisers — Lamya bint Sinan Al Kiyumi, Ziana Qaiser and Nashia bint Yahya Nasib.
“Our vision is to establish Oman’s first upscale exhibition with a fresh approach to appeal to mothers, fathers and children alike,” Lamya, Chairperson of Mommy and Me Oman, said. She added the 50 exhibitors expected to participate in the fair would be specialists in services, products and expertise that were essential for every family living in Oman.
“Furthermore, we have an excellent line up of seminars scheduled to take place during both exhibition days,” Lamya said.
